Universal Mortgage Corporation has closed. Universal had been in business since 1968 and, at the time of its closing, was Wisconsin's largest, independent mortgage lender. We owe our customers and our employees credit for our success. Our closing was due to the dramatic changes which have occurred in the mortgage lending environment and was unfortunately unavoidable.
All of our mortgages were transferred to other mortgage servicers prior to our closing. If you are a mortgagor whose mortgage was held by Universal Mortgage Corporation, you received a letter from us which provided information about your new mortgage servicer. It is important that you contact that new mortgage servicer as we no longer can assist you.
Some communications to Universal may be difficult during this time. We have attempted to leave channels open so that we can receive and act upon messages of importance. Please observe the following:
... You may call our main number, 262-292-0300. These calls will go directly to voice mail. Please leave a short message and include your name and contact number.
... You may email us at closing.umc@umc123.com These emails will go to a hosted mailbox which we will review daily.
... We are no longer receiving deliveries at our Home Office and are forwarding directly US mails which need attention to the new mortgage servicers. If your correspondence is returned to you, please correct the addressee to the new mortgage servicer.
... If you were a Universal Mortgage Corporation mortgagor and you feel there has been too long a delay in response to a communication, contact your new mortgage servicer immediately.
